With Atalanta enduring a barren run of results over the last couple of weeks, the Bergamo side will hope to return to the winning column when they take on Verona at home on Sunday.
Atalanta will head into their next gameweek sitting in seventh position after earning 47 points from 29 games. As the club hopes to qualify for European football once more, Atalanta are seven points behind fourth place, currently occupied by Cesc Fabregas’ in-form Como outfit.
La Dea are coming off a 1-1 draw with league leaders Inter Milan, a result that continued their three-match winless streak in the league. Overall, Atalanta recorded just two wins, two draws, and one defeat in their last five Serie A matches.
Verona face a different prospect altogether, as they look relegation straight in the eye after matchday 29.
Sitting in 20th position, Verona managed only 18 points from 29 games at this stage of the season and is nine points from safety. Verona suffered a 2-0 loss on home soil against Genoa last time out, recording four losses and one win in their previous handful of league assignments.
Verona last tasted victory on 8 March, bagging a 2-1 win over Bologna at Renato Dall'Ara.

Speaking after Atalanta’s 1-1 draw with Inter Milan, Raffaele Palladino praised his side’s display of character and hopes for much of the same as they look to overcome their recent struggles.
“It was a difficult week; we played against two very strong teams. I liked the team’s response, especially from a mental point of view,” Palladino said.
“There could have been consequences, but the team reacted well, like men. I was pleased with the intensity, although there were some physical issues remaining.
“I also appreciated the spirit of those who came off the bench — it’s a strong group that has been pushing for four months, during which I have asked a lot from them.
