Jacques van der Merwe will be looking to make more history when he tees it up at Waterkloof Golf Club in the Betway Big Easy Tour Final from 17-19 March.
The South African earned his Sunshine Tour card after claiming a stunning victory in November to become the first player to win three events in the 2025-26 season.
Van der Merwe started the final round at Krugersdorp Golf Club one shot behind leader Andre Van Zyl, but carded a 12-under 204 to beat Oliver Goldhill and Vaughn van Deventer by one stroke.
The Balderstone Sports Institute graduate took just eight months to make a name for himself after winning the fifth Big Easy Tour event of the campaign and quickly followed it up with success at Reading Country Club one week later.
Van der Merwe sits third in the Order of Merit standings behind Joe Sullivan and Daniel Cronje after finishing seventh in the Play Off last month.
"It means a lot to me," he reflected on his historic three wins on the Big Easy Tour.
"I don't think that I would have been able to say I'd achieve all that by now. But if you work hard and focus on growth rather than the result, then the sky is the limit."
