Reigning Formula 1 champion Lando Norris will no doubt hope to draw inspiration from his 2025 British Grand Prix win heading into this weekend’s schedule at Silverstone and at the same time, eye his first win of 2026.
In what is panning out to be a largely disappointing defence of his crown, Norris currently occupies fifth place on the Driver’s standings with only two podiums to his name so far.
The British star’s only appearances on the podium came at the Miami and Barcelona Grand Prix where he finished second and third respectively after a stuttering start to the season.
Norris could only manage P7 in his most recent assignment at the Austrian Grand Prix and took his tally to 79 points heading into the British Grand Prix this weekend.
Speaking after the Austrian Grand Prix, Norris believes that he finished in seventh owing to a slow start and extreme temperatures that hindered McLaren’s pace later on in the race.
“There was nothing easy about the race today with the temperatures we had,” Norris said.
“I just lost out on lap one to a couple of cars, and lost out then in the pit stops with having to box Oscar first to cover Hadjar. I lost out, and that was it, really.
“So not a lot to complain of, otherwise just lost track position, and track position was the most important thing today. Unfortunate, but that's the way it is.”
