Xander Schauffele will be looking to build on his strong performance in the Players Championship when he tees it up at the Valspar Championship.
The American is still trying to rediscover his best form after suffering a small cartilage tear and an intercostal strain at the end of 2024.
Schauffele missed several PGA Tour events in early 2025 and struggled throughout the year, which saw him achieve just three top-10 finishes before winning the Baycurrent Classic on October.
But the 32-year-old is showing signs of finding his touch again after carding a 3-under 69 in the final round at TPC Sawgrass to finish two strokes behind champion Cameron Young in T3.
Schauffele admits he had doubts about his game following the injury layoff and it took him some time to regain confidence due to his state of mind.
"Probably my brain," Schauffele replied when asked what was the hardest part of his game to get back.
"Yeah. Besides the actual rib itself or that sort of intercostal area, my brain. You have doubts and certain things creep in, and you definitely take good health for granted when you have it, when you're kind of running around as a kid.
"So now that I'm old and dusty and, you know, things kind of come at you fast. I think it took me a little while to get my feet under me and sort of get that confidence back to compete."
