Serie A quest at the Bluenergy Stadium on Monday.
After leading Genoa out for the third time this season, De Rossi and his charges bagged a dramatic 2-1 comeback win against Verona during matchday 13.
De Rossi commenced his Genoa tenure with consecutive draws against Fiorentina and Cagliari respectively and subsequently climbed into 16
th place on the log.
Udinese on the other hand currently occupy ninth position in the table and returned to winning ways last time out following a 2-0 result against Parma this past Saturday.
Their most recent league outing was followed by back-to-back losses against Roma and Bologna as the club recorded two wins and three losses in their last five encounters.
Speaking after his first victory as Genoa coach, Daniele De Rossi expressed that his side has much work to do regarding their ball possession qualities.
“This victory is important, even if it doesn’t change anything. We know we didn’t have a good first half, but these guys always put in a good response,” De Rossi said.
“We had a lot of possession, but we need to understand what to do with the ball. We were slow and unwilling to look for space. We’re enjoying this victory and the joy. In the second half, we played much better, even if we dropped back a lot in the final minutes."
