2025/26 Premier League
Matchday 29
Newcastle United v Manchester United
St. James' Park
Newcastle upon Tyne, England
Wednesday, 4 March 2026
Kick-off is at 22:15
Newcastle United will be eager to halt Manchester United's unbeaten Premier League run when they collide at St. James' Park on Wednesday, 4 March.
Current Form
Magpies succumbed to a 3-2 defeat to Everton at home on 28 February and they are winless in their last two matches in the league.
The defeat extended Newcastle's winless run to three matches in the Premier League, having recorded three successive losses at St. James' Park.
Meanwhile, Man United claimed a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace at home on 1 March as they extended their unbeaten run to 11 matches in the English top-tier.
The Red Devils are also undefeated in their last five matches on the road, having recorded three draws and two victories as the visitors.
Team News
Newcastle United have no suspension issues, but Valentino Livramento, Bruno Guimaraes, Lewis Miley, Emil Krafth and Fabian Schär are all sidelined due to injuries.
Meanwhile, Manchester United could be without Lisandro Martínez, Matthijs de Ligt, Patrick Dorgu, Mason Mount, Luke Shaw (illness) and Harry Maguire (illness), but there are no suspension worries.
Quotes
"We are going through a very good spell. A positive spell. We knew we were capable of this," Man United captain Bruno Fernandes said after the win over Palace.
"It's not from there [Michael Carrick taking over], it's from Newcastle on Boxing Day, a while ago. We need to be able to play better football, for us, it's a sign we want to improve.
"The resilience of defending and getting the end result is sometimes very important for the team to understand. The spirit is very high and it will be massive in the next game against Newcastle."
Head-to-Head
Man United emerged as 1-0 winners over Newcastle in their last Premier League meeting, which was at Old Trafford in December 2025.
Therefore, the Red Devils snapped their two-match winless run in the league against the Magpies, who had recorded two successive wins.
