Atalanta are among the most in-form teams in Serie A at the moment and could extend their winning streak to four matches when they face Sassuolo at the Mapei Stadium on Sunday.
Atalanta are seventh on the table after accumulating 45 points from 26 matches, keeping their European qualification hopes alive heading into March. As it stands, Atalanta are one point behind fifth-placed Juventus and five points adrift of AS Roma who are in fourth place. Sassuolo currently sits ninth on the Serie A table with 35 points from 26 matches after a decent run of results in the last couple of weeks.
Regarding the two clubs' form sheets, Atalanta noted four wins and one draw in their last five league outings, while Sassuolo recorded four victories and one defeat in their previous handful.
Atalanta will head into their next Serie A assignment on the back of a 2-1 victory against Napoli at the Gewiss Stadium this past weekend, while Sassuolo recorded a 3-0 win over Verona on home soil last Friday.

Reflecting on Atalanta’s win over Napoli on Sunday, Raffaele Palladino revealed that his side learned from their 3-1 defeat against the reigning champions three months ago, as they seek to qualify for the UEFA Champions League yet again at the end of the campaign.
"I think the team has gained belief in its capabilities, as we faced Napoli three months ago and lost 3-1," Palladino said.
"But from there, we started this journey together with many positive performances and difficult moments. There is a great deal of self-confidence now.
"We are very happy with this performance. We proved that we are up there, too, for the top four. We want to keep growing and climbing.”
