After Sassuolo held giants AC Milan to a draw last time out, Fabio Grosso’s men will now look to bag maximum points against Torino on their own patch this Sunday.
Sassuolo’s matchday 15 obligation ended in a 2-2 draw with AC Milan as Armand Lauriente scored a 77th minute equalizer to save his side’s blushes at the popular San Siro.
As it stands, Sassuolo are ninth on the log with 21 points and recorded two wins, two draws and one loss in their last five Serie A outings.
As for Torino, the Turin-based team jotted down a 1-0 win against Cremonese at Olimpico di Torino this past Saturday. The win saw Torino end the weekend in 13th position, while they also put their three-match losing streak to bed.
Sassuolo coach Fabio Grosso said that he is looking ahead with much optimism following his side’s stalemate with Milan as he feels they created enough chances throughout the 90 minutes.
"They were good. We started well and took the lead. Then, of course, the opponent is top-level, and at the end of the first half we conceded also due to our own mistakes,” Grosso said.
“We didn’t start the second half well, but we finished the game at a very high level. Maybe even too high, as we allowed some counterattacks we could have managed better. But this great courage gave us the chance to create opportunities to go for the win. We are happy with the point. We put everything aside and look to the future with confidence."
