After competing in the Players’ Championship earlier this month, Tommy Fleetwood will now shift his attention to the Oaks Course at the Valero Texas Open on Thursday.
What to know about Tommy Fleetwood
Fleetwood came in eighth position at the Players’ Championship and will be among the top contenders in Texas later this week.
Rolling back some 16 years, Fleetwood turned professional in 2010, making his debut at the 2010 Czech Open on the European Tour. Fleetwood’s first victory as a pro came at the 2011 Kazakhstan Open, which opened the doors for him on the 2012 European Tour.
Since then, Fleetwood has claimed eight wins on the European Tour, with the most recent being the 2025 DP World India Tour, where he finished two strokes ahead of Keita Nakajima.
The 35-year-old Englishman has only one PGA Tour win, emerging victorious at the 2025 Tour Championship ahead of Patrick Cantlay and Russel Henley. As a feather in his cap, Fleetwood was part of Team Europe at the 2025 Ryder Cup where he received the Nicklaus-Jacklin Award after winning both foursome matches alongside Rory Mcllroy and both four-ball matches next to Justin Rose.

Amid competing at the Players’ Championship, Fleetwood was anxious about the ongoing war in the Middle East. Fleetwood was thus relieved after his family was able to leave their Dubai home following conflicts that led to numerous airspace closures.
"It is difficult not being able to travel. That has obviously been difficult. But when you know they're fine, that's kind of a relief," Fleetwood said.
"I think Clare [Fleetwood's wife] is very relieved now. She feels good and everything.
"It's just not a great time for so many people in the country. It's just unsettling for everyone, really.
"It's easy for me to say it's been on my mind but at the same time I'm not the one who was there."
