2025/26 English Premier League
Matchday 38
Tottenham Hotspur v Everton
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
London, England
Sunday, 24 May 2026
Kick-off is at 17h00
Tottenham's biggest game in 48 years sees them fighting for their Premier League survival against Everton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on the final day of the season on Sunday, May 24.
Spurs have been poor again this term despite making a decent start under Thomas Frank, who won five of his opening nine matches at the helm after taking over the reins from Ange Postecoglou.
However, Frank was sacked in February in the wake of a 2-1 defeat to Newcastle which extended the Lilywhites' winless run to eight games and left them in 16th place.
The Igor Tudor experiment failed spectacularly as he lasted just 44 days after picking up one point out of a possible 15 and Roberto De Zerbi was brought in with the club sitting 18th in the standings.
The North Londoners embarked on a four-match unbeaten run under De Zerbi, which included back-to-back wins against Wolves (1-0) and Aston Villa (2-1), but a 2-1 loss to Chelsea on May 19 placed them just two points above the relegation zone in 17th position.

Not since the final day of the 1977-78 campaign, when Spurs gained promotion back to the top flight on goal difference, has a game held more importance to them then the visit of the Toffees.
David Moyes' side had been in contention for European football before they went on a six-game winless streak, with a 3-1 defeat to Sunderland on May 17 pushing then down to 12th spot.
Everton have little hope of finishing in the top eight despite being within three points of a UEFA Conference League berth as their goal difference is far worse than that of Chelsea (8th), Brentford (9th) and Newcastle (11th).

De Zerbi has urged his players to stick together in these times of trouble and wants to see that same "energy" and "passion" on display against the Toffees that he saw at Chelsea.
"We have to stay strong, be stronger and to prepare for the next game," he said. "I watched a good game, the spirit of the players was good and I think it's an opportunity for every one of us because through this very difficult moment, difficult period, difficult days, if we stay strong we can become better.
"Better as a coach, better as players, better as people, but we have to stay together, strong, focus on the game and play with personality, with courage, like today, but maybe with something more because in the last 20 minutes I think we played with more energy, with more passion and I want to see that behaviour."
