Colombia and DR Congo will face off in a 2026 World Cup Group K clash on 24 June as both teams target back-to-back wins.
Current Form
Colombia secured a 3-1 win over Uzbekistan in their Group J opener on June 18, stretching their unbeaten run to three matches across all competitions.
DR Congo, on the other hand, held Portugal to a 1-1 draw in their Group K opener on June 17, extending their winless run to three matches.
Head-to-head
The two nations have never met before in a senior international match. This will be their first-ever competitive encounter.
Team News
There were no pre-match injury concerns or sudden illnesses within the Colombian camp at the moment. Their key players, Luis Díaz and James Rodríguez are expected to start.
Meanwhile, Samuel Moutoussamy had late fitness concerns during training, but he passed his medical tests in time to be fully available. First-choice attackers Yoane Wissa and Cedric Bakambu are also fit and available.
Quotes
"We delivered a strong defensive display. The first match in tournaments like this is always difficult, but we are happy," DR Congo head coach Sébastien Desabre said after his side's draw with Portugal.
"We are happy. We earned our first point and delivered a good defensive performance against a great team. We were affected a little in the opening minutes, but we improved as the game went on."
"This is a point in a major tournament. We are now focused on the next match, and we know that if we beat Colombia or Uzbekistan, we can qualify for the next round. That is good news for us."
