Collin Morikawa will be hoping to build up a head of steam for the Ryder Cup when he joins his team-mates at the
Procore Championship on Thursday, September 11.
The world No. 8 is one of 10 players from Keegan Bradley's 12-man roster who will take to the North Course at Silverado for the first event of the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup Fall.
Morikawa was amongst the six captain's picks for the competition at Bethpage later this month despite not being in the best form in recent months.
The 28-year-old native from Los Angeles started the season strongly with two second-placed finishes in the Sentry and the Arnold Palmer Invitational and claiming T10 at the Players Championship.
However, Morikawa only achieved one more top-10 placing - T8 in the Rocket Classic - while he missed the cut in the Scottish Open and the Open Championship.
The two-time Major winner, whose last victory on the PGA Tour came in 2023, admitted to being frustrated with his game after the Tour Championship, where is placed T19.
"It's weird, but I feel like my irons need to get better. I know my numbers from a numerical strokes gained look fine, but I should be able to step on 15 tee here and aim in the left edge of the water and know that ball is never going there," Morikawa said.
"17, I had pitching wedge to a back pin, hit it left in the bunker. Those are just shots that right now for quite some time now that I am just hitting. I hate doing that. Just got to keep digging. Wake up every day and just keep figuring it out."
