The race to qualify for the
2026 World Cup from Group A looks set to go down to the wire as Germany and Luxembourg go head-to-head at the Stade de Luxembourg on Friday, November 14.
Die Mannschaft lead the way on goal difference ahead of Slovakia, with both teams tied on nine points going into the penultimate round of fixtures.
Julian Nagelsmann's side, who lost 1-0 to the Falcons in their opening match, extended their winning streak to three games with a 1-0 success against Northern Ireland on October 13.
Should Germany and Slovakia pick up three points this week, then automatic qualification will be decided when they lock horns in Leipzig on November 17.
The Red Lions are already out of the picture after losing all four of their matches in the group and managing to score just one goal.
Their heaviest defeat came at the hands of Germany (4-0) in Sinsheim on October 10 and they've failed to get on the scoresheet in their last three encounters which yielded 15 goals for the four-time World Cup winners.
Nagelsmann has been criticised for calling up Said El Mala too soon after the 19-year-old winger only made his first-team debut for FC Koln on August 24, but has scored four goals in 10 appearances, mostly off the bench.
But Nagelsmann said: "Said El Mala should show his true colors with us, bringing all his carefree and lighthearted style.
"We're keeping an eye on the talents from our U21 team and, in consultation with [U21s coach] Toni Di Salvo, want to give them the opportunity to showcase their skills with the senior national team from time to time."
