With reigning MotoGP champion Marc Marquez sidelined for the rest of the campaign, Ducati has made a bid decision in preparation for the upcoming
Portugal MotoGP at the Algarve International Circuit this coming weekend.
Marquez, who racked up 11 wins and 15 podiums en-route to clinching his seventh MotoGP title was sidelined after the Indonesia MotoGP in October owing to a fractured shoulder.
The Ducati star subsequently missed both the Australia and Malaysia races and was replaced by test rider Michele Pirro as a result.
While Pirro recorded no points in either race, Ducati has now called on Nicolo Bulega for the Portugal and Valencia MotoGP.
Reflecting on his call-up, Bulega expressed that he will attempt to race with composure ahead of his MotoGP debut.
"I'm very happy to be able to close out a season like this with a nice last-minute surprise,” Bulega said.
“Making my MotoGP debut is every kid's dream who aspires to become a racer. Furthermore, being able to ride the world championship-winning bike in the last two races of 2025 makes it even more exciting.
“It will be quite a challenge; I don't have any specific expectations. I'll approach this experience with all the necessary calm, also because, for now, I've only been able to test the Desmosedici GP at Jerez. That said, I certainly have no shortage of motivation to do well and give my all.”
