Atletico Madrid will be targeting their fourth straight win in
La Liga when struggling Levante visit the Metropolitano on Saturday, November 8.
Los Colchoneros continued to put pressure on the frontrunners as they beat Sevilla 3-0 on November 1 to make it six wins from their last eight matches.
Diego Simeone's side had only picked up two points from their opening three games of the season after losing 2-1 to Espanyol and playing out to successive 1-1 draws against Elche and Alaves.
However, Atleti are now unbeaten in 10 outings and have closed to within one point of Villarreal (3rd) in fourth place and trail Barcelona (2nd) by a further two points.
Los Granotes have yet to put together a decent run and find themselves languishing down in 16th position after winning just two of their opening 11 games in 2025-26.
A 1-0 loss to Celta Vigo on November 2 extended their winless streak to three matches and they are level with Real Mallorca (17th) and Valencia (18th) on nine points.
Julian Calero's side have the second-worst defensive record in the league after conceding 20 goals to date, with only rock-bottom Girona (24) faring poorer.
Simeone still sees room for improvement despite keeping three clean sheets on the spin and he insists everyone in the squad will have a part to play as the campaign progresses.
"It's clear that we always need to improve. We're searching for that with humility and faith in what we're doing, continuing to work, and we won't stop until the last breath," the Argentine said.
"I see that there's quality, a lot of lads who deserve to play, and we're not giving them the time they deserve because of how they've been working, and those who are getting regular playing time are doing well.
"In the search for partnerships around the pitch, we need everyone. There are many matches left to play, and if we manage to maintain a team where everyone feels important regardless of how much playing time they get, it will be very important."
