Justin Rose’s adaptation period to a new brand of clubs will continue when he competes at the PGA Tour’s Truist Championship, set for the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, from Thursday 7 to Sunday 10 May 2026.
The 45-year-old Englishman recently became a brand ambassador for McLaren golf clubs, first using their equipment at the Cadillac Championship last week – where he shot two over par for the whole tournament and finished tied for 65th.
"McLaren golf has been something that has been on the backburner for a good number of months," explained Rose, the current world No5. "To launch a brand out of the ground - obviously it has been going for a lot longer than a year in terms of the development team and development process.
"It's something I've been involved in from the outset, really helping the engineering team, really testing the first editions of the clubs. I have been working with the project for well over a year probably, so it's been exciting this week to finally launch it.
"I've got lost of ideas on every part of the game, so this is a good place for me to be able to put my ideas down and let the smart engineers go figure it out."
Rose will be hoping to further refine his relationship with the new clubs, as he looks to win the Truist Championship for the first time in his career.
The main threats to Rose’s hopes of a maiden title triumph in Charlotte will come from Masters Tournament champion Rory McIlroy (who will be returning to competitive action after a month off, and is a record four-time champion of this event), defending champion Sepp Straka, as well as the likes of Matt Fitzpatrick and Cameron Young, while world No1 Scottie Scheffler has chosen to skip this event as he targets the upcoming PGA Championship.
