With Como flying high as a revelation story in Serie A football this season, the rising club will now prepare to take on Parma this weekend with the view of moving up the table.
Two years after securing top flight football, Como recently booked their ticket into the UEFA Conference league following a 1-0 win over Verona during Matchday 36.
The win left Como in sixth position, just two points shy of the UEFA Champions League spot as they noted 65 points from 36 matches so far. After overcoming a largely testing spell a couple of weeks ago, Como managed to record two wins, two losses and one draw in their last five matches.
Parma will go into their upcoming game sitting in 13th position, with 42 points from 36 fixtures.
However, the iconic Italian side suffered a 3-2 defeat against AS Roma in their most recent league tie, a result that came after a 2-0 loss against reigning champions Inter Milan.
Overall, Parma gathered two wins, two defeats and one draw in their previous handful of Serie A matches.
After securing a place in the Conference League, Como coach Cesc Fabregas has now urged his team to ‘fly’ even higher as they remain in line for a Champions League berth.
"I'm very happy and proud today. Two years ago today we were promoted to Serie A and today we're qualifying for Europe,” Fabregas said.
"The team, the club, the fans have all grown, it's inexplicable, we will remember this day twenty years from now.
"These days, with social media, everything goes so fast, there's so much pressure. You have to enjoy it. I don't remember how many trophies I won, but there is much more to come.
"Now we have two games left to go and we will see if we can fly even higher."
