2024-25 Italian Serie A
Matchday 38
Venezia v Juventus
Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo
Venice, Italy
Sunday, 25 May 2025
Kick-off is at 20h45
Juventus will be looking to book their place in the UEFA Champions League when they face relegation-threatened Venezia at the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo in the final round of the
Serie A season on Sunday, May 25.
The Old Lady held onto fourth place after they halted a two-match winless run with a 2-0 success against Udinese on May 18 which kept them one point clear of Roma (5th) and two ahead of Lazio (6th).
Igor Tudor's side have now picked up eight points from their last four outings since going down 1-0 to Parma on April 23 and they won't for anything less than a victory in Venice.
The Winged Lions are in danger of making an immediate return to Serie B after suffering a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Cagliari on May 18.
Eusebio Di Francesco's side have only collected five points from their last five games to sit two points adrift of safety in 19th place, although they have a superior goal difference to Empoli (18th) and Lecce (17th).
Juve will be targeting an improved performance against Venezia after being held to a 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture on home soil on December 14.
Di Francesco wants to see a response from his players after describing their trip to Cagliari as the "worst" of their season.
"Today we were unrecognisable from every point of view. I think today was our worst performance, and it came unexpectedly given our path up to this point," the Italian said.
"This is a championship that does not allow you to approach a match of this type in this way, Cagliari today fully deserved the victory. We must roll up our sleeves and prepare for the next match against Juventus.
"it will be a difficult match, but there is still hope. It is a real shame, because today it almost seemed as if we had never taken the field in Cagliari."
Tudor was pleased to put smiles on the faces of the fans in their final home game of the season, but has called on his players to give one last big effort in a bid to secure a top-four finish.
"We won an important game, now we just need one last result in the next game. We have to work hard until the end," the Croatian said.
"The boost from the fans in this stadium is important, it's nice to finish the last home game of the season with a good win."
