Truist Championship this week.
What to know about Rory
After some 16 attempts at the Masters, Mcllroy finally claimed the Master’s title for the first time in his career in April. The Northern Irish golfer then partook in the Zurich Classic, where he and his partner Shane Lowry finished in a lowly 12
th position.
As the defending winner of the Truist Championship, the 36-year-old will now head into the tournament as an overwhelming favourite, especially after his victory at the Masters.
What did he say
"The week of the Masters, for me, I'm just trying to distract myself with doing anything," Mcllroy said regarding his mindset during the Masters.
"I'm trying not to watch coverage of the tournament, I'm trying not to watch anything about the golf. You try to just not look at the sports news. So, like, read a book, watch a show, watch a movie.
"So, I was watching Bridgerton with my wife, which was her decision, but I actually got into it, it was good,” Mcllroy jokingly said.
