George Russell will be keen to register his first win of the 2025 Formula One World Championship season by winning the
Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

The Mercedes driver secured a podium spot at the Miami Grand Prix on 4 May, the latest event in the 2025 Formula One World Championship calendar.
Russell started on the fifth grid and he went on to finish third, while also finishing fourth in the sprint event, which earned him 20 points in the USA.
Formula One title ambitions
The 2022 Hawthorn Memorial Trophy winner is placed fourth in the World Drivers' Championship standings, having accumulated 93 points.
Russell is six points behind third-placed Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing and 38 points behind leader, Oscar Piastri of McLaren.
Why Russell could win the 2025 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix
The King's Lynn, Norfolk-born racing driver won two races last season as he clinched the Australian Grand Prix and Las Vegas Grand Prix.
Having finished third three times this season, Russell will be determined to secure a top-two finish in the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix for the first time in his career.
What did he say?
“Honestly, I’m happy with third place here in Miami," Russell said after the 2025 Miami Grand Prix.
"On a personal level, I’ve always been forced to chase this weekend and in the end it was a great result.
"Congratulations to McLaren, who were very far away today. Keeping Max behind is never easy, but I stayed calm and felt quite good in the car.”
