Andre Onana wants to shine a light on a gloomy season for Manchester United fans by beating neighbours Manchester City in the
FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday, May 25.
Erik ten Hag's side ended a disappointing top-flight campaign on a high with a 2-0 victory over Brighton at the Amex on the final day, although it was only good enough for an eighth-placed finish - their worst in the Premier League era.
Onana has endured a tough debut season at Old Trafford due in part to not having a stable back-four in front of him after an injury crisis ravaged the defence in 2023-24.
Ten Hag used 29 different defensive combinations in United's 28 league matches and only had his first-choice back-four fit on one occasion.

Cameroon international Onana, who managed to keep just nine clean sheets in 38 appearances, expressed his gratitude to the club's supporters for backing him during the hard times and wants to repay the faith against the Citizens.
"We have to keep working hard, keep pushing," he told MUTV. "Now we have ahead a very important game for us, for the club, for the fans, for me and for my team-mates - a big final so now we are thinking about it.
"One hundred per cent, it's been a difficult season for them and for us. We must win this for them because they travel a lot of kilometres to support us and we feel them.
"They are always behind us when we are down so from here, we can only thank them for all of their support this year.
"For me, it was difficult at the start and they were behind me so I'm very thankful to them. Let's end on Saturday at Wembley, we will be there and we will fight until the end."
