Race commences at 4:00pm
As the world’s oldest sports car endurance race, motorsport fans and drivers will brace themselves for yet another gruelling test at Circuit de la Sarthe this week as the 94th edition of the spectacle looms closer.
Along with Formula 1’s showpiece at Monaco last weekend, coupled with the Indianapolis, the 24h Le Mans race will form part of what is known as the infamous ‘Triple Crown’ in motorsport.
Divided into three separate classes, the flagship Hypercar class will feature 18 cars, eight manufacturers and 54 drivers this year.
Meanwhile the LMP2 class will stage 19 cars, 16 teams and 57 drivers while the LMGT3 section will host 25 cars, nine manufacturers, and 75 drivers.

For the points system, manufacturers finishing in P1 will earn 50 points, double the standard points in regular FIA World Endurance Championship races. Those in P2 will gain 36 points, while P3 receives 30 points.
Practice 1 is scheduled to commence between 2pm and 5pm on Wednesday, while Hypercar/qualifying will begin at 7:30pm. Practice 2 will take place between 10:00pm and 00:00pm.
Thursday will feature Practice 3 between 2:45pm and 5:45pm, while Hyperpole 1 & 2 starts at 9:05pm and 9:40pm respectively. Ending Thursday’s activities, Practice 4 will commence at 11:00pm.
Saturday will see manufacturers warm-up at 12:00pm, while the main race takes centre stage at 4:00pm.
