Ferrari's Charles Leclerc doesn't believe their season should be viewed as "shocking" as they head to the Austrian Grand Prix on Sunday, June 29 still searching for their first win of 2025.

The Prancing Horse pushed McLaren all the way in the World Constructors' Championship last year before ultimately having to settle for second place as the battle for the title went to the final race.

However, Leclerc and new Ferrari team-mate Lewis Hamilton have struggled to compete with their rivals this term, claiming just three podium finishes between them in the opening 10 races.

The Monegasque's best performance came on home soil when he took P2 in the Monaco Grand Prix, a race he won in 2024, becoming the first local driver to achieve the feat since Louis Chiron in 1931.

Leclerc missed out on a third consecutive podium when he finished just 2.428 seconds behind Mercedes' Andrea Kimi Antonelli in P5 and he stressed that Ferrari need to take lessons from McLaren in order to improve in the remaining 14 races.

"I think none of us is satisfied with how it is going at the moment, that is clear," the 27-year-old driver was quoted as saying by racingnews365.

"We came into the season thinking that we had chances to challenge McLaren and Red Bull in order to win the championship, and that has not been the case so far.

"McLaren has done a huge step forward compared to last year, a lot more than anyone else, and if we compare ourselves to our competitors other than McLaren, it is not like we are having a shocking season.

"We need to find what McLaren found. But we also need to be careful with everything going on around the team because sometimes that can change the perception of someone's season.

"McLaren is doing an outstanding job, and we are absolutely not happy with the situation we are in, but we just need to find ourselves as well, just like Mercedes and Red Bull need to find the outstanding thing McLaren has found."
