Carlos Alcaraz will be hoping to become the first Spanish player to win three successive Wimbledon titles at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

What to know about Alcaraz

The Villena-based athlete has won 21 ATP Tour-level singles titles, including five major titles and seven ATP 1000 titles in his budding career.

Alcaraz claimed a fifth major title at the French Open in 2025 in a classic final, overturning a two-set deficit to top seed Jannik Sinner.

News

The 22-year-old was in action at the 2025 Queen's Club, where he was crowned champion after defeating Jiri Lehecka of the Czech Republic in the final on June 22.

Alcaraz has been ranked as the world No. 1 in men's singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), including as the year-end No. 1 in 2022, and it is his current position ahead of Wimbledon.

Why Alcaraz could win Wimbledon

The three-time singles Grand Slam champion has won the last two Wimbledon titles and two French Open trophies as he dominates world tennis.

Furthermore, Alcaraz has also won 21 of his last 22 matches on grass, which makes him a clear favourite to win Wimbledon for the third time in a row.

What was said?

“At Wimbledon, it’s not just about winning the title. It’s about becoming part of something bigger," Alcaraz said ahead of the 2025 Wimbledon.

"When I was 11 or 12, I said in an interview that my dream was to win Wimbledon. The pressure you put on yourself to achieve the things you’ve always dreamed of can be overwhelming at times.

"But defending my title last year and holding that trophy on Centre Court again was a special moment I’ll always remember.”
