UEFA Women's Euro 2025

Quarter-finals

16-19 July 2025

Kick-offs at 21h00

Norway, Sweden, Spain and France will all be looking to keep their 100 per cent records at Euro 2025 intact in the quarter-finals.

The knockout stages get underway with a clash between Norway and Italy at the Stade de Geneve on Wednesday, July 16.

Gemma Grainger's side topped Group A with nine points after registering three successive wins against Switzerland (2-1), Finland (2-1) and Iceland (4-3).

The 1987 and 1993 champions have already improved on their showing at Euro 2022 when they were eliminated at the group phase after winning just one of their three matches.

Grainger was delighted with the victory over Our Girls after shaking up her team, saying: "I feel very happy! I'm really pleased tonight, we made six changes before the game and see that performance was really pleasing."

The Blues finished runners-up in Group B with a record of one win, one draw and one loss, having seen their unbeaten start come to an end at the hands of Spain, who fought back from an early goal down to emerge 3-1 victors last time out.

Andrea Soncin's side had kicked off proceedings with a narrow 1-0 success over Belgium before being held to a 1-1 draw by Portugal.

Sweden will be aiming to make another statement of intent when they face defending champions England at the Stadion Letzigrund on Thursday, July 17.

The Blagult stunned losing Euro 2022 finalists Germany 4-1 most recently to secure top spot in Group C which maintained their perfect start in Switzerland after they had already triumphed over Denmark (1-0) and Poland (3-0).

The Lionesses progressed from Group D as runners-up as they bounced back from a 2-1 reverse to France first up by thrashing the Netherlands 4-0 and Wales 6-1, making them the joint-second-highest scorers at Euro 2025 with 11 goals.

In the third quarter-final, host nation Switzerland will be heavy underdogs when they take on title favourites Spain at the Stadion Wankdorf on Friday, July 18.

The Red Crosses made history as they clinched a dramatic 1-1 draw with Finland on July 10 to reach the knockout stages for the first time as runners-up in Group A.

Pia Sundhage's side got their campaign up and running with a 2-0 win over Iceland after suffering a 2-1 defeat to Norway on the opening day of the tournament.

La Roja displayed their battling qualities in a 3-1 come-from-behind victory over Italy on July 11, having shown their title credentials with crushing wins against Portugal (5-0) and Belgium (6-2).

Spain forward Salma Paralluelo hailed their resilience against the Blues, saying: "It was a very competitive match. The Italian national team is always a tough opponent - they start very strong, and that's exactly what happened in the opening minutes. We had to withstand, so to speak, the storm, but we overcame it."

Meanwhile, France will be buoyed by their fine start in Switzerland when they lock horns with Germany at St. Jakob-Park on Saturday, July 19.

Les Bleus began proceedings with a bang as they beat current holders England 2-1 in their opening game and they kept the momentum going by routing Wales 4-1 and the Netherlands 5-2.

The DFB-Frauen, who are the record eight-time winners of the UEFA Women's Championship, suffered a shock to their system with a 4-1 loss against Sweden on July 12 as they had to settle for second place in Group C after wins over Poland (2-0) and Denmark (2-1) in the first two encounters.
