Reigning European champions Paris Saint-Germain will face their biggest test yet of the 2025 Club World Cup when they lock horns with Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Saturday, July 5.
PSG finally conquered the UEFA Champions League as they stunned Inter Milan 5-0 in the final on May 31 to lift the coveted trophy for the first time in their history.

Luis Enrique's side topped Group B with a record of two wins and 1 loss, having kicked off proceedings in the United States with an impressive 4-0 victory over Atletico Madrid before suffering a surprise 1-0 defeat against Botafogo.
The French giants then made short work of Inter Miami in the round of 16, scoring four goals in the first half to come away 4-0 victors.

However, Bayern will pose their toughest challenge yet as one of the most successful teams on the European continent and former two-time winners of the Club World Cup (2013 and 2020).
The Reds made a bold choice when they appointed Vincent Kompany as head coach in May 2024 and he immediately repaid their faith in him be delivering the Bundesliga title.

Kompany's side signalled their intentions in the revamped intercontinental competition by demolishing Auckland City 10-0 first up and they recorded a 2-1 win over Boca Juniors before going down 1-0 to Benfica in their final Group C match.
The German titans were made to work for their 4-2 triumph over Flamengo in the round of 16, although Harry Kane sealed the win with his second goal on 73 minutes.

Enrique has called on his players to stay focused on the task at hand as he looks to add another trophy to the cabinet after winning the Ligue 1, Coupe de France and Champions League titles in 2024-25.
"This is clearly a historic season for our club, and we intend to continue making history in this competition," the Spaniard said.

"We have to stay focused. Holidays and next season are not things I'm interested in right now. We have to think about recuperating and preparing for the game in the best possible conditions."

Kompany was impressed with the tempo his players set against Big Mengo in Miami Gardens and believes they are ready for PSG, having masterminded a 1-0 victory over them in the league phase of Europe's elite club competition on November 26.
"We did a lot right and now we're in the next round," the Belgian said. "We always have to take into account the conditions. After 20 minutes I was wondering if we could keep it up for 90 minutes. The team found the right tempo.

"We know Paris, we've already played against them [this season]. The analysis was of Flamengo first, now it'll be of Paris."
