The 75th edition of the British Grand Prix is poised to take place in a village in the West Northamptonshire unitary authority area of Northamptonshire, England, called Silverstone on July 6.
What to know about the British Grand Prix
First held by the Royal Automobile Club (RAC) in 1926, the British Grand Prix has been held annually since 1948 and has been a round of the FIA Formula One World Championship every year since 1950.
Furthermore, the British Grand Prix is the oldest race in the Formula One World Championship calendar, as the 1950 race at Silverstone was round one of the first championship season in 1950, and the event is due to take place at Silverstone Circuit until at least 2034.

The Austrian Grand Prix, which was the 11th round of the 2025 Formula One World Championship, was won by Lando Norris of McLaren on June 29.
McLaren's Oscar Piastri and Charles Leclerc of Ferrari finished second and third, respectively, at the Red Bull Ring.
Standings
Piastri is still placed at the top of the World Drivers' Championship standings, 11 races into the current campaign.
Norris, Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen and George Russell of Mercedes are placed second, third, and fourth, respectively, in the standings.
Looking at the World Constructors' Championship standings, McLaren are still placed at the top, followed by Ferrari, Mercedes and Red Bull Racing respectively.
Favourites
Russell, Piastri, Verstappen, Leclerc and Norris are the favourites to win the British Grand Prix as the top five-ranked drivers battle for glory.
Having won last year's British Grand Prix, Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton will be looking to maintain his dominance at the Silverstone Circuit and clinch a record-extending 10th win in his home country.

"It’s been a solid weekend for the team – we continued to improve our qualifying pace and the team did a great job throughout," Hamilton said after finishing fourth at the 2025 Austrian Grand Prix.
"We didn’t have the race pace we expected, but still, we came away with some solid points and a podium, which is something we can be proud of. We’ll analyse the data carefully to understand where improvements can be made.
"Thank you to everyone at the track and at the factory for their hard work and commitment. We remain focused and I’m looking forward to my first home Grand Prix with Ferrari."
