Harris English will be determined to become the first golfer to win back-to-back Farmers Insurance Open titles since Tiger Woods' 2005 to 2008 victories.
What to know about English
The American star played in Nationwide Tour events in 2011 as an amateur: the Stadion Athens Classic and the Nationwide Children's Hospital Invitational, which he won - becoming only the third amateur to win on the Tour.
English turned professional in 2011 and he has been crowned champion at five PGA Tour events, while also finishing second in The Open Championship, and PGA Championship in 2025 to mark his best performances in a golf major.

English is currently placed 11th on the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) and his best overall position is seventh place.
Why English is one of the favourites
The 36-year-old won his fifth PGA Tour title, at the 2025 Farmers Insurance Open, parring the last 12 holes on a difficult weekend of scoring for a one-stroke victory over Sam Stevens.
Prior to that, English had finished second in the 2015 Farmers Insurance Open and the former University of Georgia student is a clear favourite to win this weekend's tournament.

“When you kind of get in those ruts, you kind of lose your competitiveness, you lose the fun in shaping shots and hitting different shots,” English said after winning the 2025 Farmers Insurance Open.
“I spent a lot of the offseason working on some technique stuff. (Justin Parsons, English's swing coach) said it was time to get back to playing... You've got to miss in the right spots, you've got to grind out there and pars are good and that's kind of all you're trying to do.
“It doesn't have to look pretty, you've just got to get the job done.”
