Rory McIlroy will be eager to register his fourth victory in the 2025 PGA Tour season by winning the
BMW Championship for the second time.
What to know about McIlroy
The Northern Irish superstar turned professional in September 2007 and he has won 44 professional tournaments, including 29 PGA Tour victories and 19 European Tour wins.
McIlroy is a five-time major champion; he has played for Europe at the Ryder Cup in every edition from 2010 to 2023, with Europe winning in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2018 and 2023.

The accomplished golfer has been inactive since he competed in the 2025 Open Championship in July, as he secured a top 10 finish, finishing seventh.
McIlroy is currently ranked second in the Official World Golf Rankings and has spent over 100 weeks in the top spot during his career.
Why McIlroy is among the favourites
The two-time RTÉ Sports Person of the Year won the BMW Championship, two strokes ahead of Phil Mickelson and Lee Westwood in 2012.
McIlroy has played some of his best golf this season, having been crowned champion at this year's AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, The Players Championship and the Masters Tournament.
