Villarreal will be looking to build on their third win in five games when they face rock-bottom Real Oviedo at the Estadio Carlos Tartiere on Thursday, April 23.
The Yellow Submarine have pulled away from Atletico Madrid in the race for third place after picking up 10 points out of a possible 15 since the start of March.
Los Colchoneros had a tough run of fixtures during that period, including matches against Barcelona and Real Madrid, both of which ended in defeat.
Atleti were beaten again by Sevilla on April 11 and Marcelino's side took full advantage as they recorded a 2-1 win over Athletic Bilbao 24 hours later.

The Castellon outfit have opened up a four-point gap to Atletico, but they come up against an Oviedo team who are starting to gain some momentum themselves.
Los Azules are still very much in danger of making a swift return to the Segunda Division, although a 3-0 triumph over Celta Vigo on April 12 took them within six points of safety.
Guillermo Almada's side have also won three of their last five outings and they've only lost twice at home since the turn of the year.

Marcelino believes that finishing third is a distinct possibility for Villarreal if they can stay consistent for the final two months of the campaign.
"With the mindset we showed today, we can be third. But it's not easy," he said. "There are still matches to play and consistency is key.
"Winning at this stadium has great merit and, in general, so does the season we're having.
"What I do believe is that the Champions League is now very close, and securing it again was one of our objectives. It would be historic, because the club has never achieved it before."
