Atletico Madrid will be hoping to have put their bad run of form behind them as they prepare to take on Valencia at the Mestalla on Saturday, May 2.
Los Colchoneros' top-three challenge faltered badly in March and April after they lost four matches on the trot to hand the advantage to Villarreal.
But Diego Simeone's side returned to winning ways on matchday 32 when they beat Athletic Bilbao 3-2 to remain five points behind the Yellow Submarine in fourth place.
Atleti still have their focus split though, as they look forward to a meeting with Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.

Los Ches are starting to look up the table now after a 2-1 victory over Girona on April 25 took them five points clear of the relegation zone.
Carlos Corberan's side arrested a three-game winless run and find themselves just two points outside the top 10 in 12th position.
Things are tight in the bottom half of the table, however, as the teams from 11th to 19th are separated by just six points with five fixtures left to play.

Simeone hasn't given up hope of catching Villarreal after getting a reaction from his players in the second half against Athletic, who were leading 1-0 at half-time.
"The points mattered a lot. We have a better advantage than before the match against [Real] Betis, and we're closer to Villarreal, which is the team we're aiming to catch.
"Football goes through moments and situations. The first half wasn't good, and any play can get you back in the game, as happened in the second half, which I thought was very good."
