World No. 24 Bryson DeChambeau is keen to renew his rivalry with defending champion Rory McIlroy at the
Masters from 9-12 April.
The American achieved his best finish of T5 at Augusta last year, having briefly led in the final round before back-to-back bogeys effectively ended his challenge.
DeChambeau is in a rich vein of form after winning in Singapore and South Africa on the LIV Golf tour, while also claiming T3 in Adelaide.
The 32-year-old is set to make his 10th Masters appearance and finished T6 in 2024 before going on to win the US Open for the second time in his career later that year.
DeChambeau admitted that losing to his playing partner McIlroy in 2025 taught him a valuable lesson and he hopes to challenge that Ulsterman again this year.
"It's great if we can continue to have a rivalry," he said. "I don't see any problem with that. If anything, it kind of helps create more buzz around the game of golf.
"Do I want to beat him every time I see him? Absolutely, there's no question about it. It's one of those things - like I got him at Pinehurst (2024 US Open), he got me here (2025 Masters). I hope there's more of those to come because it's great for the game.
"It (losing) was a great learning lesson. Leading or being tied for the lead and having the lead, that last group final round, gave me a lot of perspective on it.
"Then losing it and having things not go my way as they finished out and Rory completed the grand slam. Last year he earned it, right? It was really cool to see in person."
